Terms and Conditions



Your quote is valid for 7 days. The quote will be sent to you via email, along with our Booking Form. After 7 days, the quote will no longer be valid and all items and services become available to other interested clients. Once you return the Booking Form and have signed your acceptance of our Terms and Conditions, you will then be required to pay a refundable security bond (please refer to Breakages/Damages/Loss). Once your security bond has been received, your goods are then confirmed for your event date and cannot be hired to other interested parties.




The balance of payment is due 2 weeks prior to your event.  Payment can be made by cash, Paypal or via Bank Transfer. Please use your Surname and Event Date as reference for payment.

Banking Details: By Country or By Sea, BSB 063 733, Account 1051 0403.


Minimum Spend


Our minimum spend is strictly $50.00. 


Hire Period


All DIY couples will have a four day hire period (some hire items excluded). This allows time for pick up, set up and return.  All details will be confirmed with you two weeks prior to your event. Please check your Booking Form regarding collection and drop off days and times. If your items are not returned on the specified day, a $50 late fee will be incurred.

Delivery and Collection


While collection and return is preferred, delivery can be arranged. Please contact us for delivery and pick-up costs to your area. 




Your security bond covers any accidental breakages or damage. If the damage/breakage or loss amount is greater than the bond, an invoice will be sent to you accordingly for the difference.  This MUST be paid within 7 days.




All items are clean and packaged with care. It is expected that they are returned in the same manner.

Any display glassware items that cannot be washed (ie. glassware with bunting or lace or display glasses with shells) must be carefully cleaned with a soft cloth and glass cleaner. All care must be taken when cleaning Window Displays. They are to be cleaned LIGHTLY with a soft cloth ONLY on the lettering side. Do NOT rub the lettering. The back can be cleaned with glass cleaner. A cleaning fee will be charged if stock is returned dirty.

If you are burning candles in any of our products, all wax must be removed prior to their return.

Liquid or permanent chalk is not permitted to be used on any of our chalkboards. A replacement fee will be charged if the chalkboard is damaged. 

Appropriate transport must be arranged when collecting and returning hire items. We do not allow stacking of furniture and prop items as this causes damage to our stock. We reserve the right to refuse collection if suitable transport has not been arranged.


Refunds, Cancellations, Change of Mind


Once your booking is confirmed the equipment is made unavailable for hire to other clients and as such we are unable to re-hire these items or fulfil another booking date. We do not offer refunds for change of mind, change of circumstances, cancellation or a reduction of items so all items noted on the written quote are payable in full.




While all care is taken in prepping the hire items, due to the nature of the materials used, it is in the Customer’s best interests to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when transporting the hire equipment.

It is expected that the utmost care be taken with the hire items due to the age of some of the materials. Children MUST be supervised at all times when in close proximity to the hire items.

The Customer will assume all risks and liabilities with respect to the products and for all injuries arising from the Customer’s possession, use, maintenance, repair or storage of the products.

Any person signing the documents for and on behalf of the Customer, hereby covenants with the Owner that he/she has the authority of the Customer to make this agreement on the Customer’s behalf and is empowered by the Customer to this Agreement.

Once you leave our premises, you are responsible and liable for any accidents, breakages or damages to yourself or others or any of the items hired from By Country or by Sea. By Country or by Sea take no responsibility for any damage, accident or breakages to your own property, yourself or others caused by any items hired from By Country or by Sea.
